Sally Breenemaid Sally Breen is an artist living and painting in Water Mill, NY. She is inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings of the shore and large sky. "I try to capture that glimmer of color that catches the corner of your eye". Sally graduated with a BFA from Syracuse University in 1980 and furthered her art studies at the Academy of Art in NYC, the Torpedo Factory in Va., and the Westchester Art Workshop in NY. At the Art Workshop she had the pleasure of studying with George Peters. George broke down the canvas into dots or "bursts of color". With the introduction of the "pointillistic" style, Sally explored painting from a whole new direction. Though not all her canvases are dots, she goes back and forth to keep from getting stagnant. "My canvases are like battle zones that funnel my energies. I feel better, it's therapeutic and if the painting works that's a bonus." |
